Small Scale Solar with Net Metering is a competitive threat to Large Scale utilities!!! Watch the video from 2 mins to 2 min 14 seconds.
Note that everyone pays a 3 cent levy on every watt of electricity bought from the grid to pay the net metering cost to the grid. So what's the problem, Eskom? Scared of going out of business because of competition from homeowners and SMMEs?
Someone asked me: "Interesting video - not sure I understood the positives of small scale solar for the large scale grid ?"
My answer:
"Large power stations should power industry. Homeowners and SMMEs should power ourselves."
