Milla SA is pleased to announce the 4th Rural Development Conference, 2013. Rural development plays a major role in maintaining the viability of not only agriculture but the entire socio-economic, environmental and cultural cohesion of rural communities. This year’s theme focuses on the future we want to achieve by analising the actual situation within rural South Africa and Africa in terms of their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats while taking the broader economic environment into consideration. How to best use the SWOT and PESTLE analyses to meet the needs of rural communities is an important process. Sustainable rural community need to be created through the identification of common interests, negotiation and design of partnership arrangements. Mentor ship and advisory services are key to the success of such initiatives which require a continuous process of identification of gaps and opportunities as a means of achieving sustainable growth.
